I knew of Cameron before we met. Cameron and I both graduated from Kentridge High school; I graduated in 2009 and he graduated a year later in 2010. We had a few of the same friends but our paths never crossed until November 8th, 2017. I had just left my job at Sweet Themes Bakery to start my new job at Dynamic Language. I was getting a tour of the office when I was introduced to Cameron. He looked so familiar, but I was not quite sure. I told him he looked familiar to me and he told me he did not recognize me at all. To him, I was just the girl who supposedly baked delicious chocolate chip cookies. Apparently, he referred to me as the cookie girl before I started working for the company. It turned out that I had remembered Cameron from high school. His best friend Jonathan, married my bandstand buddy, Ylan, and have been friends with him for many years. I had seen pictures of him at their wedding! Cameron and I ended up talking to each other over the next couple of months and in January of 2018, we became Goal Buddies. We promised to help each other reach our goals. I had a goal to learn French, that did not happen; and Cameron had small goals to try a new hobby or activity once a month. We had spent a lot of time together. We ran/walked three 5Ks; dove with sharks; yelled “Wow” like Owen Wilson with strangers at a park, and began falling in love. It was not until April 21st, 2018 when Cameron made the move and kissed me for the first time. We have been together ever since.
