Katelyn & Robert

Wedding Party

Some of our favorite people agreed to stand by our sides as we embark on our future together. Below they shared some of their favorite memories with us.

Grace Lindsay

Maid of Honor

“My favorite memory with Katelyn would be the growth our friendship took when we decided to sit together at lunch in high school. Just two girls, at the end of a lunch table trying to make it through. Between all the boy gossip, extracurricular activities, and school work, we miraculously made it through high school. Now, I get to stand by Katelyn on her special day and watch her marry her other best friend.”

Liesl Whitener

Bridesmaid

"One of the first times Katelyn came over to our house, I scared her on accident thinking it was Robert. Now it has turned into a fun little game where we try to scare the heck out of each other all the time!"

Kortney Manasco

Bridesmaid

"When Katelyn and I worked night shift at Barnes together, one night we decided that walking to round on our patients was a little too hard. Together with some other nurses on the unit, we made a train with our chairs and rolled our way down the hall to check on each patient. One day we also wanted to get Chick-fil-a for breakfast and raced to the one by our houses. I beat Katelyn but somehow she ended up in front of me and paid for my breakfast when I had planned on paying for hers! Then we had a little breakfast date in separate cars in the parking lot!"

Danielle Johnson

Bridesmaid

"My favorite memory with Katelyn is when she encouraged me to be spontaneous and adopt my first kitten, Nala! I had been talking about getting a kitten for a while and she said "Let's go do it!" She even held her in the car the whole way home. Our beautiful bride is an adventurous and supportive friend and I am so grateful to her for helping me get my first baby!"

Riley Jane Anderson

Bridesmaid

"One of my favorite memories together was our Panda Express dates. Whether it was to celebrate passing nursing exams or just for fun, that was something we would always do, just the two of us. Another favorite memory was when Katelyn roped me into working the Russell Dickerson/Frankie Ballard concert at Maryville, where we both met Russell and Frankie and ran into Russell Dickerson's sweet wife in the crowd!"

Allyssa Hollenkamp

Bridesmaid

"My favorite of Katelyn and I is actually a lot of memories. Our late night study sessions in the library that turned into late night shenanigans where absolutely no studying was done (but we did lose 3 pounds from laughing so hard.) But somehow we managed to pass and make it through nursing school!"

Ed Koharik

Best Man

"Robert and I have known each other far too long for me to come up with a single story to tell. After over ten years of shenanigans, deep conversations, and friendship. I can't say I have a favorite memory with Robert. Whether it be hanging out around the neighborhood in high school or the road trips we've taken, I always look forward to getting to see one of my best and oldest friends. He is an amazing friend and an amazing man. I am honored to stand next to him as he and Katelyn take the next step in their journey together."

"My favorite memory of Robert was hanging out in his basement playing hide and seek in high school like we were little kids. He had the hangout house. Sodas to pick from, video games to play, ping pong to master, nerf guns to find out who your real friends were, and of course, we were always welcomed by his mom with warm cookies!"

Ryan Patterson

Groomsman

"My favorite memory of Robert is a pretty tough decision considering there are millions to choose from. I think I have to go with when he flew down to Florida in September of 2021. He had no need to come down, he just wanted to check in on me and have some fun. I had been having a rough couple of months, and it was nice to have somebody to hang around with, drive go karts, and enjoy the beach with. We've had tons of great memories together, but that's one of the most meaningful."

Will Knowles

Groomsman

“My favorite memory with Robert has to be our Disney trip from last year. We spent my (and Katelyn’s) birthday weekend at Disney World and had a blast! It was fun to experience the parks with Robert’s vast knowledge. Galaxy’s Edge was especially great, getting to explore the area and drink at the Cantina (while secretly judging each other’s drinks from opposite sides of the bar). It was also great to get to know Katelyn better and see what a great couple they are. Traveling is better with friends, and Robert and Katelyn are great travel companions. I look forward to many more in the future.”

"Junior year, Rob and I were big into bowling. We went down to the bowling alley to throw some balls at some pins and drink some beer. Rob put some tunes on the jukebox and I grabbed the beers. I'm pretty sure he threw a huge wad of bills into the machine to keep the classic singalong vibe going. I remember it so fondly as it speaks to his character and how he is selfless in his ways of wanting people to enjoy their time. Another one of my favorite memories is freshman year Robert, our friend Grant, and I got a study corner in Engineering Hall to prep for our Calc 1 final. Me and Grant tried really hard to drag Rob away to goof off and shoot the breeze. As I recall, he was less than pleased, but rightfully said he would do better on the final. He did, but I found it funny how it spoke to his unshakability in the years to come."

Mitch Schend

Groomsman

"Oddly enough, one of my favorite memories with Robert came from trying to design a roller for bariatric patients as our senior design project for engineering. After an awful meeting with our advisor, he told us we needed to better understand our customer, or patient. We were told to go home, throw oatmeal into our beds, and roll around in it. Instead, we called our friend in the nursing program and had her roll Robert in the bed as if he was bed ridden while the rest of the group stood by and recorded. We presented this to the entire class to show that we had an understanding of what it is like to be completely immobile and to have a nurse half our size roll us from side to side to change the sheets under us."
