How We Met

October 6th, 2020. An ordinary Tuesday, or so it seemed. Corlisa woke up, got ready and drove from Jacksonville on her first day training as a travel Nurse in Gainesville and thought nothing of it. Anthony meanwhile, was woken up by a phone call from his father which prompted him to rush to urgent care. After meeting with his father at urgent care and transporting him to the hospital, Anthony and his father sat in their room awaiting more news on his father's health. In came Corlisa, in all of her radiance and positive energy. Anthony looked into her eyes and for a few seconds forgot why he was in the hospital. After quite a lot of hint dropping between the two (with a little help from dad) and waiting for the right moment, Anthony gathered up his courage and asked Corlisa to dinner at Red Lobster. She said yes. And now here we are.

Proposal

April 21st, 2021. This day happened to be the birthday of Anthony's grandmother, and also the date Anthony had planned to propose on for many months. Anthony's grandmother had told him he couldn't propose until she met Corlisa so it only made sense. After secretly taking trips to Jacksonville to obtain the engagement ring and slipping it into his pocket before heading out, Anthony was ready to propose. Originally, Anthony was intending to have his uncle record the proposal as he was supposed to arrive around the same time. However, this ended up not being the case. Faced with no cameraman, Anthony had to think quickly. As Corlisa and Anthony's grandmother began talking about the wedding, (Yeah that was us talking about a wedding even before a ring came in to play, yeah, that was us) Anthony remembered that there were swatches of the wedding colors in the car. Anthony quickly leap up and went to the car. Once at the car Anthony got his phone tripod out, (which he had packed just in case,) snapped the phone onto it, pressed record, and opened the ring box. As he walked back into his grandmother's house, nervous with shaky breath and shaky hands, he got on one knee and asked Corlisa to marry him. After being struck by temporary disbelief, Corlisa said yes, much to Anthony and his grandmother's joy.
