Our Story

Our love story started when we sat in the back of the bus on our way back from a 9th grade Harper's Ferry white water rafting field trip. The two hour drive was filled with laughs, and we became close friends after that. After being paired up in a large number of freshman year classes, the flirtation really began. Corinthia finally convinced Jake to go out with her on October 8, 2010. Throughout High School, there were movie dates, Homecoming dances, and Proms. Then came college, we both attended Roanoke College, in Salem Virginia, where Jake majored in International Relations and Corinthia Majored in Business Administration. College was filled with late night fast food runs and dorm parties with friends. After graduation, we moved to Annapolis, MD where we both got our first jobs. We quickly figured out city life was not for us, and we retreated to the farm. While on the farm, we adopted Otter, our slightly spoiled, but very sweet rescue pup. We decided to buy our first house together in Prince Frederick in December of 2019. We have so enjoyed building a home and a life together, and are excited to celebrate the next chapter in our story.

The Venue

Cage Farm

The venue is Corinthia’s parent’s, Kim & Crofton’s, home located in Saint Leonard Maryland. The Cage was granted by Lord Baltimore in 1658 and has been in the family since its inception. The farm itself started as a hunting lodge for William Parrot, alleged bastard son of Henry VIII, and grew into the family estate it is today. From 1930 to the late 70s it was a thriving cattle and tobacco farm, during the 1990's the farm was part of the tobacco buy-out and has not produced tobacco in over 20 years. The wood work inside is all hand done and most of the walnut wood was harvested on the farm and built with hand tools. The site was also witness to the war of 1812 and the failed accent up the Patuxent River. (You can learn more about this at the Marine Museum) We share a love for the farm and its beauty; we are excited for it to be host to the important people in our lives and the start of our next chapter.
