Crazy Coincidences

Before we ever officially met, our lives had already been overlapping for decades. Jaret and Corinne grew up one mile away from each other, in the same stake — just five years apart. Both children of doctors… and in fact, Corinne’s dad actually put tubes in Jaret’s ears. One of Corinne’s YWs presidents was Richelle Cleverley (distant cousins- an extra ā€œeā€ but we still love them) Richelle was a basketball star and huge influential with her basketball connection for Corinne at that time. She has forever been fond of the name and the people. Jaret’s sister Emma and Corinne’s cousin Ridge became best friends in high school (both currently serving missions). Jaret’s dad Chad once had to drive Ridge home from Utah after a BYU loss. IFYKYK. All four sets of grandparents live in the Boise/Meridian area. Jaret’s Grandma Linda grew up hanging out with Shonnie Coleman, Corinne’s great-aunt. Corinne’s Grandpa Wayne Coleman delivered most of Jaret’s aunts and uncles. Her other grandpa, David Palfreyman, was Rhett and Marie’s YSA bishop when Marie joined the Church. David told Rhett that he should think about marrying Marie. Jaret’s dad grew up playing soccer with Corinne’s Uncle Mark. Corinne’s Aunt Sarah and Uncle Eric once lived in the Cleverley’s ward in Boise. Both wore #3 in high school basketball. Both Chicago Cubs fans. Corinne because she was born in Chicago, and Jaret because of his Uncle Todd who loved the Cubs. In 2011, Corinne was at every home BYU game during the Jimmer era — even storming the court after the SDSU win — while Jaret was being trained by Jimmer himself and winning Jimmer Camp shooting contests. 2015–2016: At BYU at the same time. 2019: Both at the BYU Tennessee football game in Tennessee. And both have almost identical photos of views of the field from the south end zone. See photos in gallery. Corinne has talked about wanting to marry a guy with a truck her whole life and Jaret has not one but two white trucks. Just to add the cherry on top. Timing is everything… and it may have taken a little bit longer but it couldn’t have been more perfect. 🧔
