We have been attending and volunteering at the same church for years, but never crossed paths until February 2025. After a casual conversation about winter camping, we didn’t see one another again for over a month. Then, by chance, we reconnected at a swing dancing event. One dance turned into two, and then became a lively conversation where book recommendations were swapped, theology discussed, and hope instilled. We spent the month of April getting to know one another, which inevitably led to our first date a month or so later. Those who knew us individually sensed that we would be well suited for one another even before we had met. It took us a little longer to realize that our shared faith, love for the outdoors, and reading were not our only common ground; we are both deeply intentional people. What began as mutual intrigue led to a season of fishing, trail running, and purposeful discovery, culminating in a desire for lifelong devotion.
