Stoddard and Corina's journey started at Hope Chapel... Stoddard joined Corina's longtime church, Hope Chapel, in June of 2021. Corina has been attending Hope for thirteen years and didn't notice Stoddard for the first year that he was a member. Stoddard noticed her. They attended a class named "HOPE 101" together, they were often at the same service, they even volunteered for the same event, but still they weren't able to connect. Too bashful to approach her in that setting, Stoddard was one day prodded by a friend of Corina's who asked: "Wouldn't you agree with me that Corina is beautiful?" Not feeling so bashful any longer, and also not willing to lie at church, Stoddard had to agree, and couldn't behave as though he didn't know who Corina was. A few weeks later Stoddard summed up the nerve, walked deliberately towards her and asked her out, right there at church. After a month of dating something was different for both of them. Meeting at Hope Chapel. Putting the Lord first. Having that common ground between them was cause for trust and mutual admiration, so things took off quickly from that point onwards, and to where we are today. The happy couple look forward to years of growing as a couple with friends, family, and their faith surrounding them. They understand the Lord's calling by their continued worship of Christ through their marriage, and encourage those who are married and still single, to use the example laid out for them by our Lord. Ephesians 5:25 - 33 "Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
