The year is 2020, it is January, and life is normal and boring. A young adult Bible study group had been started in Prineville, Oregon and was growing in size. A young lady named Corina joined the small group and noticed a young fellow named Daniel. Little did they know that that meeting was the start of God’s plan for their lives. Fast forward to the summer of 2021. The group has become small due to Covid but is now a very strong friend group. During a camping trip in the Ochoco National Forest, Daniel starts to notice Corina in a new way, not knowing she had found him attractive from day one. As time went on the friendship that had already been established for a year began to grow at a rapid rate. Daniel, a short, big headed (actual head size), and quick witted fellow, started to see something different in Corina. He found himself wanting to get closer to her and spend more time with her but didn’t want to be a weirdo (more than he already was). Corina, a classy and intelligent woman, was surely out of his league. Over the fall and winter months, as they began to hang out and interact more they started to grow individually in the idea of attraction toward each other. Soon the new year was upon them and they were in for a big life change. Corina had been subtly dropping hints of attraction and Daniel was not picking up on them very well. So with the help of her best friend Lizzy, they schemed. They came up with a plan to have a game night but set up Daniel so that he and Corina had some time alone, giving them an opportunity to get to know each other even better. Not three days after the setup, Daniel had the courage to ask Corina out on a date, after asking Lizzy if his feelings for Corina were far fetched or not, and that started the climb for their relationship. On January 22nd, they had their first date. By the middle of February, Daniel decided that she was the one for him and they began talking about a future together. After a few hiccups in his plan, due to the previously mentioned intelligence of Corina, Daniel gained the courage to carry out a successful proposal. He arranged a scavenger hunt to some of Corina’s favorite places in Prineville, with the final clue taking her to a spot that was special to them both. She made the ascent up Barnes Butte where Daniel was waiting with the perfect ring that he had picked out “all by himself” (Corina’s choice actually). Long story short, a friendship that had begun two years prior turned into a commitment that will span a lifetime, in only two months. With lots of laughter, communication, and love, the two of them are excited to see where God takes them and where He calls them to serve His church and His people.
