Mike & Corie met during rehearsals for an original melodrama called "The Lovely Boat" in September, 2015. Neither was looking for a relationship. The ladies in the cast decided to push them toward each other. Corie did most of the heavy lifting here because Mike can be a little oblivious. After weeks of trying to get his attention, she agreed to go to a haunted attraction at The Queen Mary. Although it wasn't a "date" (their mutual friend, Kim, went with them), Mike finally got the idea that Corie "might be into him" as he observed her being scared to the point of crying over the course of the evening. She's happy to say it was worth it...mostly!
Corie: We made a trip to the Disneyland Resort for Dapper Day in late April. Saturday night we went to dinner at Carthay Circle and I had a suspicion that something was up when we were escorted to a private dining room. It was beautiful and...private. There was a portrait of a Mary-Poppins-era Julie Andrews on the wall above our table, and a huge portrait of Walt Disney directly in Mike's sight-line. We had a lovely dinner and then, just before dessert, Mike got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. You've probably already figured out that I said, "Yes!" We spent some time calling our families to share the good news, then went back to our hotel to change and walk across to the Rivers of America for a VIP seating of the reimagined Fantasmic! It was a very magical evening!
