It all started when my friend Veronica texted me one day saying “your boyfriend just started at my work.” I laughed, we both did. As this wasn’t the first time she’s tried to set me up with a co-worker. But she swore this one was different. I looked him up online and immediately noticed his custom designed Coors Light hat. My friends all know me as Coors Light Cori, so it felt like a sign. Turned out he was a graphic designer and made the hat himself. I was intrigued and my friend arranged for us to meet one night out with a group of friends. We hit it off immediately, throwing back Coors Lights and beating everyone in pool. Two months into officially dating, he invited me to Idaho for Christmas with his family in Sun Valley. I had never been, but quickly fell in love with the winter wonderland that was Sun Valley at that time. We spent that first Christmas together with his family playing games, sledding and hanging by the fire. And then right there in his Grandma’s backyard, he told me he loved me for the first time. Fast forward to many more trips to Sun Valley, I soon learned why he loved it there so much. The pace of life, the fresh air, the endless activities, endless places to fish, hike, camp and explore. It quickly became our place. And the memories we had made there were ones we would cherish for a lifetime. In July 2024, in his Grandma's backyard, he laid out a blanket and got on one knee. I could hear cheering coming from the house, and saw that he had my family and childhood friend fly in to surprise me. It couldn’t have been a more perfect proposal. And after we popped the champagne and celebrated with our closest people, we went to Grumpy's to continue the party. We're looking forward to having our friends and family come out to Sun Valley for our wedding in June 2026, and share a place that is so special to us with the people who made us who we are.
