It was October, a crisp fall day in New York City. Ofelia was excited to view annual meeting alongside her family. Corey was ready to start his day and help transport friends to and from varies complexes in up state New York. Ofelia along with her family just finished touring Mt. Ebo and were waiting for a vehicle shuttle back to the main lobby. The shuttle approaches, friends pack the vehicle but there’s no more available seats. A friend calls out saying there’s one more seat in the passengers side. Ofelia approaches and sees Corey, they exchange warm welcomes and greetings. The 15 minute drive felt like a 5 minute drive. Corey approaches the main lobby with a heavy sigh. They say their farewell and both go their separate ways. Days and months go by. Back in California, Ofelia is enjoying the warm California sun. Staying busy in her home congregation, Lake Woollomes Tagalog. In upstate New York, a white beautiful cold blanket has covered the entire East Coast. Corey instead of enjoying the soft snow is 2,646 miles away from home, in the beautiful country of Guyana. Months pass by and Corey Intrigued by his last encounter, is overjoyed to be reunited with Ofelia in New York once again. Days turn into weeks which in return turn into months. Despite the distance Ofelia and Corey are forever grateful for that crisp fall October day.
