How We Met Jackie and Corey met the modern way on Hinge. What began as a match quickly turned into two phone conversations that each lasted nearly three hours. Jackie, being intentional about the people she dated, gave Corey a Google Voice number instead of her real one until he passed what she jokingly calls the “vibe check.” Corey, being the tech guy that he is, immediately noticed Jackie’s messages were coming through green instead of blue. After their first date he asked if he had officially passed the vibe check so the messages could finally turn blue. Team iPhone only over here. Their first date took place in March of 2021 and the conversation flowed effortlessly. At one point they asked each other what they were looking for and discovered they were aligned. Both were dating with the intention of marriage. Corey has been consistent in pursuing Jackie ever since. Their third date was supposed to be a simple brunch but quickly turned into brunch, happy hour, and dinner. From that point forward they have been locked in and have not looked back. Together they have built a relationship centered around shared experiences. They enjoy being outdoors in nature, playing tennis, hiking, visiting art galleries, and trying new restaurants. One of their first trips together was to Big Sur where they went glamping for the first time. It became one of their favorite trips and a place they look forward to returning to each year for a California staycation. What makes their relationship work, aside from their unwavering love and support for one another, is how naturally they balance each other. Jackie often jokes that they are essentially the same person written in different fonts. Corey is diplomatic and steady, while Jackie is deeply emotionally attuned. She is soft on the inside with a slightly stoic exterior. Together they create the perfect balance. ⸻ The Proposal On February 7, 2026, Corey proposed at a wellness resort in Palm Springs. Anyone who knows Jackie knows this setting could not have been more fitting. Jackie had a feeling an engagement might be coming soon, but the moment itself was still a surprise. What stood out most to Jackie was how intentional the proposal felt. Corey planned a quiet and private moment with just the two of them, exactly the kind of proposal Jackie had always imagined. The one request she had ever made was that a photographer be present, since capturing and preserving meaningful moments has always been important to her. After the proposal they called and FaceTimed their immediate family and closest friends to share the news. They then celebrated with dinner at a romantic Italian restaurant in Palm Springs before returning to the resort to relax in the grotto located within the property’s energy healing vortex. It was a perfect evening and the beginning of their next chapter together. We feel incredibly grateful to celebrate this moment surrounded by the people who have supported our journey together.
