Almost 8 years ago, it was a bright summer day. The birds were chirping and the Metro was humming beneath the busy streets of Washington, D.C. Ellyn had just moved to the city from AZ after graduating college and Corey had finally moved to the city from the suburbs of VA. It was as if the stars aligned and the furniture gods shone down on this little city, for you see, Restoration Hardware, seemingly just a furniture company, wasn’t just a furniture store on this fateful day, but a catalyst of never ending love. Corey had been working there for a few months and was taken aback by the new hire, the beautiful and talented Ellyn Korn. As they worked closely together, they developed a strong bond, which would be the foundation for which their skyscraper of love would be built on. Corey was too shy, so Ellyn ended up asking him out to brunch. Even though he ordered a fried chicken donut sandwich, she still entertained the prospect of their relationship. But DC was only the beginning of what would become a nationwide love story. For you see, it was only a couple years later that Ellyn moved to NYC and while it was a rough time in their relationship, it only brought them closer together and Corey rejoined his designer vixen a year later in the big apple. Exploring the city was their favorite thing to do, eating hot dogs, drinking champagne, and hanging out with their friends. Central Park played a significant part of their journey as it was not only the finish line to the New York City Marathon they ran in 2019, but also where Corey got down on one knee and asked Ellyn to marry him on New Years Eve at the stroke of midnight in front of all their friends and family, underneath the glow of exploding fireworks. While NYC will always be in their hearts, the west coast was calling and in a series of fortunate events, the two now reside in the heart of San Francisco, California. 10/3/21 is their 8th anniversary, but will also be the first day of the rest of their lives together.
