Corey and Daniel both grew up in Summerville, South Carolina but did not met until they were in high school. While in high school Daniel and Corey had maybe 2 brief conversations, but never got the chance to really get to know one another at the time. They went on to live their own lives and complete their collegiate studies until October 2022 came along, when Corey and Daniel ended up at the same wedding. Daniel to this day says they didn’t know each other enough for Corey to spark up conversation at that wedding, but that’s what she did. Corey walked up to Daniel during the wedding and said “hello”…one simple “hello” turned into a long conversation which eventually led to multiple conversations throughout the remainder of the night. Before the night came to a close Daniel asked for Corey’s number and asked if he could take her out on a date. During this time Corey lived in Florida for graduate school and had just accepted a job in Charlotte, North Carolina the day prior. At the time, Daniel was living in Charleston. Somehow despite living in different states they made it work. Daniel did in fact take Corey on a first date just two weeks later and even visited her in Florida before she moved to North Carolina. On November 26, 2022 Daniel asked Corey to be his girlfriend. From there they did a year and a half of long distance before Corey moved back down to the Charleston area and approximately 7 months later they bought a house together. One year after building their home together, Daniel asked Corey to marry him while walking through a wine vineyard in the mountains…& the rest is history.
