Corey and I met while we were both “church shopping,” and God gently guided us to Calvary Assembly in Chili. I (Celina) joined young adults group a little late, but Amy welcomed me with a smile and a Practicing the Way book—right on time for the cute FedEx guy to show up a few weeks later. I was certain to stay locked on Jesus… but Jesus clearly had other plans. On April 4th, 2025, I went to an Outpost Worship Night alone. The moment I spotted Corey across the room, my heart fluttered, but worship quickly pulled me into prayer and peace. Afterward, when everyone started mingling, Corey walked straight toward me. We joked, laughed until our faces hurt, and before the night ended, agreed to meet up at church on Sunday with some friends. That Sunday, I sat in my car praying for peace—and opened my eyes to Corey walking RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY CAR... Cue the internal freak-out... Inside, he greeted me with a smile and coffee in his hands, & by the end, I worked up the courage to say, “Well… I should just get your number so we can plan services.” (#churchrizz) The next day he texted—sweet, casual, very Corey—and after small group he asked if I was free for dinner that Saturday. And from that night on… we’ve been inseparable.
