Angela and Corey met during their junior year at the University of Illinois through their mutual friend Emily. It wasn’t until their final semester of college that they discovered a deeper affection for one another and began a loving relationship together. After celebrating their graduation, Angela and Corey supported each other as they pursued careers and settled into adult life. Along the way, Angela made Corey a proper fisherman and Corey taught Angela everything there is to know about hip-hop. They always set aside time to make memories, attending music festivals and traveling whenever possible. Recently, they purchased a home in Arlington Heights and live with their two cats, Bella and Abel.

Near the beginning of 2020, Angela and Corey planned an exciting trip to multiple cities in Europe and scheduled the vacation for late March. Unfortunately, the world had other plans and they were forced to cancel the trip due to the pandemic. Initially, Corey planned to propose at a sheep park in Bruges while on the vacation. Although the pandemic derailed his plans to propose in Belgium, he decided that it would not delay the proposal. When they were supposed to be in Paris, Corey arranged a day full of culinary experiences inspired by the places they were going to visit on the trip. He made Angela Belgian waffles for breakfast, steak au poivre for dinner, and they ate stroopwafels for dessert. After a romantic, food-filled day, Corey asked Angela to marry him and she, of course, said yes!
