After both swiping right on an app called Bumble, we chatted for some time via text and call. We finally had our first date at Charlie’s Boatyard where we took a nice long walk to get to know one another. At the end of that date, we both couldn’t wait for our next date!

On September 17, 2021, we were still doing house renovations before moving in, so we were going back and forth between the house and apartment every day. This day specifically, Corey mentioned that we were going to go out to dinner to enjoy the night together as we’ve been working so hard on the house. We were going to go for a walk down by the water before heading to dinner. There was a slight suspicion as to what was going on because this is the first time we went back down to Charlie’s Boatyard since our first date. We went for a nice walk and right at the end of the walk, Corey had to pull over to "tie his shoe" and he dropped down on one knee to ask me to marry him! The words he said will be remembered vividly word for word for a very long time. He said “this is the first place I kissed you as my girlfriend, and the last place I want to kiss you as my girlfriend. Will you marry me?” And wasn’t that the easiest YES of my life!
