Coreen and Steven met during one of the most unexpected times to meet your future partner—working together at Whole Foods Market during the holiday season of 2020. With masks covering their faces, it truly was love at first eye-sight. Bonding quickly over a shared love of music, Coreen soon discovered that Steven played guitar and had once been in a pop-punk band—news that nearly made her teenage heart explode (she immediately Googled Tickle Me Pink). Steven, in turn, knew he was in trouble when Coreen pulled out her astrology app, entered their birthdates, and enthusiastically explained just how compatible they were. (Coreen still carries the Post-it note with Steven’s birth date and time in her wallet.) Even when life presented challenges that seemed to point them in different directions, they knew what they had was worth fighting for. In 2021, they made the bold decision to follow their hearts and reshape their lives to be together. In 2023, they decided to blend their lives under one roof with Steven’s two incredibly smart and funny boys, Paxton and Griffen, and Coreen’s beloved fur-baby, Max. Since then, they’ve built a life filled with laughter and unforgettable memories—white water rafting, horseback riding, countless hours of making music, and one especially meaningful moment. In August 2025, during a family camping trip, Steven asked Coreen to marry him. Surrounded by family, the beautiful Colorado mountains and trees, and of course Max, Steven—along with the help of Paxton and Griffen—got down on one knee and popped the question. The ring he gave her holds a special story of its own. It once belonged to Coreen’s stepmother’s mother, and thanks to the generosity of the Orloff family (and especially Kay), it carries generations of love. For Coreen, wearing it is a daily reminder not only of Steven’s proposal, but of the family and history that now surround their future together.
