How They Met

Brian and Kimberly first crossed paths in 2005 at Yorktown High School's Battle of the Bands when Brian, a "garage band king" first approached the "punk rock princess" Kimberly. After the show, Brian being the Rockstar that he is, autographed a drumstick specially for her to keep but little did they know at that moment what their future would hold… Years later, the two would fall into the same social circle, but Brian never found the right opportunity to introduce himself. Until Cinco de Mayo 2018, with the help of their mutual friend Taylor, they were finally able to connect and flirt under the cover of sombreros, as they clinked margaritas and laughed the night away. The two felt an instant bond, going on several outings together - from sharing each others favorite hiking trails to beautiful scenic motorcycle rides. The two were inseparable, which was even further proven when Brian finally asked her to be his girlfriend. The two spent endless nights watching cheesy horror movies and going on exciting adventures together with their dog Oogie.

In 2019, they went on their first trip out West. While riding 350 miles on a Harley through Arizona, they stopped at Horseshoe Bend, a gorgeous overlook of the Colorado River. It was there when Brian pledged his love to Kimberly, with a blue sapphire promise ring as a symbol of his heart and as a placeholder for a diamond ring. Some time and a pandemic later, the two finally arrived at the destination of Brian’s elaborate plan - Hawaii. It was here on their tropical getaway where Brian was able to pull off the impossible: a surprise proposal! It took every trick in the book to hide the surprise from Kimberly. He devised a scheme with the hotel staff to set up a “room lottery" winning them two tickets to their famous Luau brunch, when in reality Brian had a surprise of his own. When they arrived at what Kimberly thought was a Luau, she instead was greeted with guitar serenade of “how sweet it is to be loved by you,” and a walkway of orchid petals leading to a gazebo overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Kimberly gazed lovingly into Brian’s eyes as he bent down on one knee, she could not have said YES any faster! True love is always about timing - as long as you’re in the right place, at the right time, with the right person, it will always prevail. And now, with great joy and love in our hearts we all get to celebrate together as this true love story intertwines and solidifies forever!
