Flight
The closest airports to San Miguel are Aeropuerto Internacional de Guanajuato (Guanajuato International Airport-BJX) and Aeropuerto Internacional de Querétaro (Querétaro International Airport- QRO). BJX airport in Leon is about 1.5 hours away (48 miles) and is the most used for people traveling to San Miguel. The Queretaro airport is about 1.25 hours away (41 miles). Both service direct flights in the U.S. with airlines like Volaris, Aeromexico, American and United.
Travel Note
If you are traveling from Southern California, consider using the CBX bridge which connects the Tijuana International Airport with its terminal in San Diego. The CBX bridge is a safe, fast and easy way to save by flying domestically from Tijuana to BJX or QRO. Additionally, you will avoid long lines at the border. Make sure to buy your CBX ticket ahead of time.
Travel Note
Upon arrival at either airport, you will need to take a shuttle to San Miguel de Allende which is approximately 1.5 hours. Our recommended shuttle service is BajioGo, which offers round trip, private or shared shuttle services from the following airports: QRO, BJX, MEX. Travel Note
San Miguel de Allende is a small town and by foot is the easiest way to get around. The city is very walkable and you don't need a car to explore. If you plan to explore by foot please be advised that the city is paved with cobblestones and has hills. Taxis and Uber are also readily available to get you around the city. Taxis will require cash.

Shuttles and taxis are readily available, however if you wish to stay in the city center, Airbnb is a great place to look for house rentals, especially for larger groups looking to stay together. Any rental or hotel near Zona Centro of San Miguel de Allende would be a great location.
