Maid of Honor
Brooke and I met in our freshman year of college, and we have not “shut up” since! I connected with Brooke instantly the moment I heard her talk because we quickly found out that we were both raised in small towns. Nursing school has brought Brooke and me closer than ever, as we suffered through all the clinicals, all-nighters, and study dates. I am forever thankful for Brooke’s twang, sass, and loyalty.
Best Man
My cousin J has played a major role in who I have grown into today. During my journey, the most important thing that he taught me is to always bet on yourself. While I was in between semesters he hired me as “Snatch Out”. I would go around to his new properties and “deconstruct” the projects. These are some of my most fond memories. I may not be following his footsteps in building a rental empire, but I did learn that the foundation is paramount. He was the one that inspired me to start my own youth lacrosse organization. Without a doubt, J will always be in my ear encouraging me to grow and get better. If you do not have someone in your life like J… find one.
Maid of Honor
Emma and I met in Orlando Florida on a scholarship trip for college. Little did we know that we grew up living only thirty minutes away from each other back at home! Emma and I would continue to become best friends and eventually roomies for the next three years. She has always been the calm to my chaos and has kept me grounded throughout our college years. I can always count on her to give the best advice and to have a crisp Coca-Cola on hand.
Groomsman
I met Nate Dog when he joined my first grade class halfway through the year. The way I remember it is I took the new kid under my wing and made him my new bestfriend…his story says otherwise. Those three years in Hawaii, we became brothers. I even made it on his family Christmas card! It was not long after that my Dad got orders to work in the Pentagon. Nate missed me so much that his family ended up moving to Virginia a few years later as well. We then would tear Mama Dawn's house up almost every summer after that.
Bridesmaid
Perry Lee and I have been best friends since birth. She has been there for me in every season of life and has always been one of my biggest supporters. We can always pick up our conversation right where we left off no matter how many months we spend apart. I am forever grateful that I have someone like Perry to share so many childhood memories with.
Groomsman
Frank was my freshman year roommate in college and teammate at Mars Hill. Of a recruiting class of nine, only Frank, one other player and I saw it all the way through. He was the lease holder that made the Lax House possible. Frank has seen the best and the worst of my college experiences. He had my back through all of them.
Bridesmaid
Katey and I are two of the most unserious and uncoordinated people you will ever meet. We went to the same high school but did not get close until Katey moved into my apartment complex in Charleston. We spent almost every afternoon together during the school months, going on walks and trying out new recipes for dinner. Katey is someone who will help out if needed unless it is after nine pm.
Groomsman
Britton or as Sawyer says, Brick, is the younger brother I always wanted. Britton is Mary’s younger brother but he is also one of my good friends. He will always be down to throw something on the grill and have a good time.
Bridesmaid
GiGi, Corby’s oldest sister, was my boss at one time- hahaha. It all began with me babysitting for her one summer while I was home from college. GiGi is always someone I can count on to keep it one hundred percent real when asking for nursing or life advice. She is a literal superwoman, and I am so excited for her to be standing beside me on our special day.
Groomsman
D.B. was the charity pick on our championship 7th grade basketball team, coached by Big Rob—and he still raves about it. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot from him. Some lessons were good, some not so good, but most importantly, he’s taught me that being the person who can brighten any room is always a good thing.
Bridesmaid
My favorite memories with Abby, Corby’s youngest sister, are when she adopts Corby and me for the week down in PCB every year. During these weeks, I have heard many childhood stories about her wrangling Corby up if he stepped out of line. I will continue to take good note of Abby’s tactics in the future. ;)
Groomsman
I knew Jackie was going to be a good influence in my life when, during his recruiting trip to play for Mars Hill, we brought him to a house party and he was shotgunning Yoo-hoos. I believe it was the entire 12 pack. Then, he committed the following week. Although he joined us a year later, he was a part of the experience in living in the Lax House. Jackson is the Florida Man you can count on. He will be there with you through everything from praying with you to changing the oil in your car. Jackson is a true friend.
Bridesmaid
Sarah, the sister I always wanted, is my cousin who showed me all the girly, yet adventurous things growing up. I can remember always being attached to Sarah’s hip no matter the family function or vacation. She was always so patient with me when I would ask her to do a million things such as paint my nails, fix my hair, or try on her high heel shoes. Sarah is someone I look up to til this day, and hopefully, one day soon, Corby and I can join in on her adventures around the world.
Groomsman
A$AP! I'm not really sure when he and I became friends, but all throughout high school, he was always close by. If one of our parents couldn’t find their kid, they knew that if they could locate one of us, the other wasn’t far behind. If there’s ever an adventure to be had, A$AP is always the first to jump in.
Flower Girl
Monty is our fearless two-year-old niece who loves to keep us on our toes! She loves all of the tropical vibes- Hawaiian music, playing at the beach, and swimming in the pool. She might toss flower petals… or suckers…or need one in hand to make it down the aisle, but either way she will be right in her element!
Flower Girl
Eloise is our youngest niece who loves all things girly! She has been practicing her twirls and walking in her princess dresses and jewelry- all she needs is some high heel princess slippers! Eloise is also an island princess at heart and loves being in the water! Corby and I cannot wait to see both of the girls dressed up!
Ring Bearer
I started babysitting for Sawyer when he was a little over one years old, and have not looked back since! He is such a special part of Corby's and my story and realize that none of this would be possible without him. It is hard to believe our little man is five years old! He is so full of life and keeps everyone in check. We are thrilled to have him as our ring bearer!
