On a warm spring day in 2014, Ryan bought a random girl a drink (#startedwithaslater) at Grottos. The random girl (Amy) quickly polished off the drink and the two parted ways. They crossed paths a few times over the next couple months at Greek life events and Ryan could not get Amy out of his head. On April 22nd 2014 Ryan asked Amy to be his formal date, despite not knowing much about Amy. Amy hesitantly agreed. It turned out to be the best decision of her life as the two unexpectedly connected the weekend of May 9th 2014 at Ocean City, Maryland. Ever since that weekend these two Blue Hens have had an incredible connection that would one day lead them to marry <3

Ryan & Amy went to spend the weekend at a beautiful B&B on a farm in Lancaster, PA. They roamed the farmland with goats, cows, pigs, and farm dogs, in which they pet, milked, and fed respectively. As they concluded their first night's evening dinner, Ryan suggested they take a walk along a trail behind the property to watch the sunset together. They walked for about half of a mile, until they arrived at a setup featuring a blanket, candles, flowers & champagne. Amy was in shock! Soon after the surprise, the sun began to set and Ryan bent down on one knee and asked Amy to spend the rest of her life with him.
