Love wasn't finding us, due to chance and circumstance. We kept looking for it, but failed in hitting a bullseye every time. We live in a digital age, which lead us to attempt blindly at finding love in hopeless places...like dating apps. Hinge is promoted as the app you want to delete - and it lived up to its tagline for our story. We went through so many profiles, attempting to find a connection and an end to having an empty chair across the dinner table. When one of us clicked on the picture we liked and the other took a whole day to reply and start the conversation, that was the initial spark of a love story that became US. [The one that took the whole day was Edgar. Christine wanted to make sure that was very clear]. The connection was immediate, but slow paced and deliberate. He said the right things at the right times and she let her guard down little by little allowing someone new to fill her heart and soul with something that was unfamiliar. We struck a deal to meet at a local bar just to break the ice and have a few cold beers to see if the spark was the same in person as it was over words on a screen. The spark was immediate but subtle. We were engaged, but cautious. Heartbreak and downward turns had made us cold and guarded. But Christine tried and allowed herself to feel. Edgar initiated and wanted to break down the walls. More dates and quick turnaround evenings allowed for the opportunity to invest time and energy, share our past and aspirations for the future. Inside jokes began revealing themselves organically. Organically - that’s what made this all feel too real. Too right. Too much like love.
