FAQs

If you have any questions not answered here please reach out to either Coral or Emily prior to June 19th. Questions the week before the wedding can be directed to Coral's Maid of Honor, Rebecca, at 970-618-6880.
Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are keeping our wedding very small and intimate, so we ask that you please not bring anyone whose name is not listed on your invite. If you feel we have excluded someone out of error, please reach out to us. However, our guest list has been finalized and we can't guarantee we can make exceptions for guests requesting a plus one.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our dress code is dressy casual/garden party. Your comfort is the most important thing, so please make sure to wear shoes that are practical for walking on grass/dirt and bring layers to keep warm after the sun goes down.

Question

What can I expect from a rural wedding at Golden Eagle Ranch?

Answer

Golden Eagle Ranch has been in the Walden family for four generations, and most of the cabins are over 100 years old. As such, there is no cell service, electricity, or potable running water. We will have a generator and portable battery for lights, charging, etc., a Starlink for Wifi, and porta-potties. The ceremony and reception will all take place outdoors, with a tent for the reception. Please wear shoes that are comfortable on grass and dirt and bring layers to stay warm after the sun sets. There is a 30 minute (15 mi.) drive up an unlit dirt road to reach The Ranch. As long as the weather is dry, this road does not require 4 wheel drive or special clearance. If you are uncomfortable driving on mountain roads and/or are planning to drink at the reception, please plan to ride with another guest. Let us know if you need help planning a carpool/ride. (Note-- we do not have access to taxis or ride share apps like Uber/Lyft.)

Question

How can I prepare myself for the elevation?

Answer

The Ranch is at approximately 8500 ft elevation, which is enough to have an effect on some people (especially those traveling from sea level). Altitude sickness may cause dizziness, headache, nausea, and fatigue. High risk factors for altitude sickness include age (young children and older adults), anemia, COPD, heart disease, asthma, and certain medications. While symptoms are usually mild, please consult with your doctor if you are at an increased risk. Preventative Measures: Altitude sickness is made worse by sleeping at 8000ft+ before your body is acclimated, so try to spend a night below 8000 ft (e.g. Denver, Glenwood Springs, etc.) before the wedding if traveling from sea level. Dehydration also plays a huge role, so drink lots of water and get some electrolytes. Some people also recommend increasing your iron intake the week before traveling to boost red blood cell production.

Question

What can I do to help?

Answer

This is primarily a DIY wedding and we appreciate everyone who has reached out to offer their assistance! Our top priority is ensuring our guests enjoy themselves, so please do not feel obligated to volunteer your help. If you would like to contribute to the preparations or helping things run smoothly day of, please reach out and we can absolutely find something for you to do! Alternatively, feel free to bring an appetizer or drink to share at the reception!
