Tyler and Kayla began their love story, unbeknownst to them, when they met in the 3rd grade at Waller Mill Elementary school, back in '06. Their friendship began at recess when Kayla wanted a hug from the new kid on the block, Mr. Tyler Floyd. Kayla's best friend, Taylor (a later bridesmaid in this love story) approached Tyler and asked if her friend Kayla could get a hug. Tyler responded, "I'd rather roll in dirt than hug her." And the rest was history. They ended up becoming the best of friends. In 5th grade, Tyler picked Kayla up off the ground during a game of soccer at recess when one of the boys got a little too rough with her. That was the start of his longtime crush on Kayla and from then on he always looked out for her. Their friendship continued to grow through middle and high school, while sharing the same close knit friend group. Tyler and Kayla both had a love for sports and often supported one another at each other’s sporting events growing up. As they got older, they confided in each other more and more, most often in the Bruton High parking lot after school. It wasn’t until senior year, though, that Tyler finally got the courage to ask Kayla out. Tyler and Kayla started dating and soon after went off to college. They dated throughout college and continued to support each other in the field hockey and baseball stands. As college years came to an end, Tyler and Kayla knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Two years after graduation, they bought their first house. A little over a year after that, Tyler finally proposed on his new boat that he had been working on for almost a year. Kayla thought she was going for a joy ride on the finally completed project but little did she know she’d be saying yes to forever! Just when they thought their hearts were full, they discovered they were going to be welcoming a baby girl into the world. A few short weeks before their baby girl, Ava Lee, made her appearance, they united as one and got married (surprise!) in the Floyd’s back yard with immediate family and their Pastor Joe. But a lifetime of memories and love deserve a celebration with the ones that matter most. This past year has been nothing but the most beautiful and exciting year yet for their little family. The Floyds can’t wait to finally get to celebrate their love with you!
