Traveling From Hampton Roads
Guest traveling from Hampton Roads can take the Cape May - Lewes Ferry. While it does not save time, we think ferry travel makes for a much more relaxing drive when two hours are spent on a boat! We recommend leaving Hampton Roads four hours before ferry departure, though three and a half can work with some hustle. After departing the ferry it is about an hour drive to LBI. Ferry trips must be booked in advance.
Travel Note
Driving on LBI
During the off-season most of the lights on LBI are turned off/flash yellow and speed limits are raised. Be mindful of the speed limits as the police do not have much to do besides give tickets. If Long Beach Boulevard should flood (life of a barrier island), we recommend driving on the higher elevation, eastern most road Ocean Boulevard/Beach Avenue.
