A true gem of Oakland - this museum covers an array of California and Oakland specific history. Check out their special exhibits, the Friday night food truck festival (where museum admission is half off), and the stunning garden — although we are making you go to the garden for the reception anyway.
This is the best spice shop in the state of California. All of the spices are fresh, it smells incredible, and they will give you recipe cards if you have never used a new spice blend before!
Shop like a real hipster. This is a strange little alley with apothecarys, plant stores, vintage shops, and great ice cream and coffee. The dairy free soft serve in this alley is one of Christine's favorite things; they also have dairy-full don't worry.
A trip to the United States of Berkeley isn't complete without a stop at the world's most Berkeley grocery store. Go for the massive produce section, the kombucha on tap, or the excellent people watching.
