College classmates and retail colleagues, but which came first? Spring of 2011, we both worked at the same Kmart when we realized were both also Freshman at Wright State University. From the very first on-campus lunch date, the connection was special and certainly captured our attention.

It was never a matter of "if", but rather "when" it would happen. John and Sarah consistently put the next steps of their lives before themselves. After multiple degrees, two cities, and a global pandemic... it was time to put their relationship first. With a trip planned to Disneyland, John started putting the plan together. Finding sneaky ways to ask Sarah small details about ring preferences became an exciting side quest that led to the main mission of the game; the proposal. Once inside the Disney park, John carried the ring tightly in his pocket with a plan to find the Millennium Falcon and a photographer. Their shared love of Star Wars made this the only out of this world location for the question that would change their lives. They spent a lovely day enjoying each others' company and the sights and sounds of the magic around them. As the sun started to set, they approached the photographer stationed at the Falcon for a typical touristy photo. What Sarah didn't realize was the second she stepped away to get in place, John whispered to the cast member what was about to happen as they excitedly nodded with approval. A few photos went by, but all John could think of was the secret he had been protecting all day in his pocket. Finally, after missing the initial cue from the photographer to go for it, John caught on while Sarah stood posed looking into the distance. Dropping to his knee, the gasps around the court yard are something they will never forget as he locked eyes with the love of his life as she turned and realized he was suddenly a little shorter. Overcome with pure excitement and disbelief, she quickly realized that after all this time, this was the moment. As if it were ever a question, Sarah excitedly said 'yes', John stood, and the moment was captured with cheers all around them. After a couple of celebratory calls, they spent the remainder of the evening in their favorite place, smiling and finally celebrating each other.

When it came time to start planning, it was pretty clear that the best place to celebrate our relationship was back where it all began. We are so excited to share this moment with you in Dayton, Ohio!
