Walk the "Beltline" - a 22-mile loop of trails and parks. Along the path, you can find new restaurants, breweries, art galleries, local businesses, etc. We recommend starting from Krog Street Market and walking toward Ponce City Market.
We suggest this for a start to your day on Sunday morning. The Grant Park Farmer's market runs 9AM-1PM on Sundays rain or shine and is in a really pretty historic neighborhood. They have lots of local vendors, usually a little live music, and has good people watching. If you're coming with kids, the Atlanta Zoo is also located in this park and there's a good playground as well.
The Georgia Aquarium is so much fun! It is huge and has lots of interactive exhibits. Buy tickets ahead of time to save significantly on them, or check Groupon for regular deals!
Really fun museum here celebrating the art of puppets around the world and Jim Henson's puppetry. Fun for adults and kids!
MODA is Claire's favorite museum locally and she has been a member for many years. It has only one exhibit topic at a time and focus on design for social justice. It usually takes about an hour to explore. If you're interested, the large High Museum of Art is right across the street, which can have some good exhibits as well.
Piedmont Park is a beautiful park in the middle of Atlanta. A great place to stroll. The Atlanta Botanical Garden is located in this park as well.
Historic Oakland Cemetery is Atlanta’s oldest public park and it is full of beautiful plantings and trees and interesting history.
