It’s not the most conventional story, but it’s God’s! Cooper and I “met" in November 2020 on everyone’s favorite social media app, the gram. I can assure you, neither of us were hoping to find someone online almost 1,000 miles away, but GOD! An influencer tagged Cooper’s podcast (Moore Than Mondays *shameless plug*) in their story. Naturally, when I saw how much he loved Jesus, and let’s be honest, how handsome he is, I gave him a follow. The next day, he followed be back. A few days later, I posted about First Watch. Thinking I was in Kansas, Cooper responded about what I should order, thus striking up a conversation which lasted a month *still on Instagram*. He made it very clear we were just friends and never once led me on. Until the day he asked for my phone number. That was different. I asked for a FaceTime call, which was basically a DTR. Let’s call it like it is! An hour long call ended with us deciding long distance wasn’t an option. I truly didn’t know if I would ever hear from him again. I spent the next day praying for God to change Cooper’s mind if this was right. He was so different than anyone I had ever met and everything about him was perfect for me. Well, our silence lasted about 24 hours. Turns out, we had both been praying about what we should do, and Cooper CHANGED HIS MIND! Well, God changed Cooper’s mind. He texted to ask if he could pursue me. We began talking on the phone every day, early into the morning sometimes. Cooper didn’t waste any time buying a plane ticket to Virginia. He flew in on December 30, 2020. The moment I ran and jumped into his arms, I think we both knew, this was it. To quote the once great Hannah Montana: “They say that good things take time. But really great things happen in the blink of an eye.” And that they did.
