Question

A wedding outside during the winter? Are you crazy?

Answer

Yes and yes :) We will keep a close eye on the weather and make sure that it's not too cold to spend some time outside. Please pack and dress accordingly. If you don't have appropriate winter gear, please reach out to us and we will see what we can do to drum up some for you! Families tend to accumulate snow gear over the years so we have access to some extras.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony? Where will it be?

Answer

We are aiming to have our ceremony at around 2pm on the ice at Crooked Lake Park. We encourage everyone to gather in the lobby of The Lodge before the ceremony, and we will have a few volunteers driving people across the street to the park. There is also parking at Crooked Lake Park for those who wish to drive themselves (and to stay warm in their cars). Our plan is to have the service on the lake and we will do our best to clear a path to where it will be. Since it will be a short service out on the ice (no more than 15 minutes), we ask that everyone who can stand for the duration of the ceremony do so. We can provide chairs upon request, please contact us if you would like to sit so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the ceremony: please dress warm! No need to be fancy in your winter gear. For the reception: we request that you wear Hawaiian shirts or similarly out of season attire. There will be ample time to change out of your winter outfits and into your dinner attire, so no need to try and wear both to the ceremony.

Question

Are +1s and children allowed?

Answer

Yes! We tried our best to give everyone the option for +1s, and also did our best to include children on the RSVP tab. We may have messed up in the process, so if you do not see a member of your family or a spot for a +1 and you would like to bring them, please reach out to us ASAP and we can get that fixed!

Question

How and when should I RSVP?

Answer

Please visit the RSVP tab at the top of this page to let us know if you can/cannot make it! We ask that you fill out your RSVP as soon as you know if you'll be coming or not. This makes planning significantly easier for us and for our venue. The final deadline for the number of attendees is December 31st so please have your RSVP in by then at the latest.

Question

Do I need to book a room in the hotel block?

Answer

No you do not need to book a room in the block! It is optional for those who want to stay in the hotel closest to the ceremony and where the reception will be. We encourage you to hunt for better prices or accommodations that work better for you! Siren is a small town so getting between any two points does not take long at all. There are three hotels in downtown Siren and many Airbnb locations nearby, please see the "Travel" page for more info on specifics.

Question

I have a dietary restriction / request, how should I let you know?

Answer

Either include it in your RSVP under the "reception" section, or contact us at the numbers above to let us know. We ask that if you have any special dietary needs or requests, you let us know as soon as possible so we can work with our vendor to accommodate you!

Question

I can't make it to the wedding, will there be another chance to celebrate?

Answer

Absolutely! We're sorry to hear you can't make it, but that's okay. Life happens and we are no strangers to that. Since we are having a smaller wedding, there are lots of people we want to celebrate with that we unfortunately don't have the room to invite. We will be hosting a larger event likely to take place in the Twin Cities sometime this summer to celebrate with everyone! Stay tuned for more info down the road.
