We met working at Tanganyika Wildlife Park in 2021. Neither of us can remeber the exact first time we met but we know that we weren't friends until the Fall when we and our friends Sydney and Blake started working on Pumpkins at the Park. On the last night of the event we all went to dinner and Cooper bought my dinner. That was the beginning of knowing there was something more here but it wasn't the right time. Fast forward to December 14, 2023 when we went with friends to Botanica's Illuminations and he asked me after to start dating. He was stunned at how shocked I was. I said "really?!" at least 100 times to which he shut me up by telling me he actually was in love with me. Talk about zero to 100! I made a rule then that he couldn't propose for 1 year. He proposed on November 9th, 2025. The proposal was everything a girl can dream of. He organinzed for all our family to be there. Including my Aunt and Uncle all the way from Ohio! I was under the ruse that our friend, Melissa, was taking family portraits at Botanica. This was all a lie and everyone was there to witness that moment and make it so special for us. Of course, I said yes! And then "really?!". There was an engagement party planned at his family home and all the extended family and our closest friends were there to celebrate. He told me later he bought out yellow and white flowers from trader joes for this party. Please note that yellow is my favorite color. I remember sitting there and being so filled with love, thinking we could've gotten married right then. Alas, we wanted to have a big wedding to celebrate so here we are almost a year later getting to have the wedding of our dreams! What we hope anyone can learn from our story is that God's timing is real and it is everything. Every high and low we walk through, God walks with us. He's been with us through it all, will be there for our wedding, and everyday of our marriage after.
