For us, Konstanz is more than just a breathtaking town on the edge of Lake Constance—it’s a place deeply woven into our family story. During World War II, when Berlin was under heavy bombing, Tony’s beloved Omie made the brave decision to send her two-year-old daughter, Barbara (Tony’s mother) to Konstanz. There, Barbara lived with her aunt and cousins, safe from the war and surrounded by love. That act of courage and care left a lasting mark on the generations that followed. Years later, Konstanz became a magical place for Tony as a child. He spent many of his summers there, playing on his Uncle’s boat, laughing with his cousins, and soaking in the peaceful beauty of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Those memories shaped his heart, and the town became a symbol of joy, safety, and family connection. So when we began dreaming of our wedding day, it felt only natural to return to Konstanz—to honor the past, celebrate the present, and begin our future in a place that has held love for generations.
