Our Love Story

From Saving Lives, to Sharing One

They say love finds you when you least expect it — and for us, it showed up with sirens, stethoscopes, and a bunch of mee-maws that needed help up. We met working part-time as EMTs. It didn’t take long before we became fast friends — the kind of friendship built on trust, shared adrenaline, dark humor, and too many 2 a.m. lazy-eye jokes. Whether we were navigating bingos, chaotic calls, or our regular 9-5s, we found a rhythm that just worked. What started as on-the-job camaraderie quickly carried over into life outside the uniforms and scrubs. Conversations got deeper, laughter got louder, and those long shifts didn’t feel so long anymore. Somewhere between 911s and other everyday moments, we realized we had found something rare — a partner who understood both the weight of the job and the joy in the little things. And we definitely got a head start on the whole “in sickness and in health” part — wrecking a motorcycle hurts! But even through road rash and bruised egos, our love never wavered. If anything, it made us stronger. We leaned on each other, healed together, and were reminded just how lucky we are to have one another — especially when life takes an unexpected turn. Then came one of the craziest days of our lives — the day we got engaged and bought our first house. (Yes, in the same day. Would not recommend, but 10/10 would do again.) It was wild, chaotic, and absolutely perfect — a true reflection of the life we’ve built together: full of love, laughter, and just a little bit of madness. We have found that our living together is simply a never-ending sleepover with our favorite person. Through all of the bumps, we face it together in prayer. It is us against the problem, not us against each other, and God leads the way. Now, we're trading in our radios (well, temporarily) for wedding rings — and we can’t wait to keep writing this story together, one chapter at a time. Now let’s get married! – Victoria & Keegan
