Ethan had a job working at LU's Cinema department and became good friends with Hannah's best friend Allie Barrett, who also worked there. Though Ethan and Hannah didn't know each other, Allie talked to Hannah about him and set up a blind date. One date led to another, and Ethan and Hannah became an official couple on March 26th, 2024.

Ethan decided to propose where Hannah and Ethan first said "I love you" to each other, at Liberty University's prayer garden. Ethan and Hannah worked on their scrapbook together in the prayer garden, as Hannah was oblivious to the proposal oncoming. Eventually, Hannah found a long letter in the scrapbook declaring Ethan's love to Hannah. Ethan after that got on one knee, asking Hannah to marry him. Hannah said "Yes"!
