Freshman year of college brought many new things for Lauren and Adam. In a new state, at a new school, with new people, both were excited to make William & Mary feel like their own. When Halloween night came, a COVID-conscious party in the dorm courtyard presented that opportunity. It was there, among the shadows, clad in their pirate and taco costumes, that Lauren and Adam first met. Lauren and Adam spent the remainder of their freshman year becoming good friends, connecting over their shared faith, humor, homesickness, and microeconomics class. They spent many late nights together in the dorm common room, bonding over their perspectives and life experiences. As freshman year concluded and summer passed, Adam recognized his growing feelings for Lauren, including the desire to (one day) marry her. On September 27, 2021, following a concert in Richmond, VA, Adam found the courage to ask Lauren out on a date. Lauren happily agreed, and the two have been together ever since. Together, Lauren and Adam have traveled across Europe on study abroad, explored Williamsburg, worked late on papers and projects, and deepened their faith. They feel blessed to have made such cherished memories over the course of their relationship, and eagerly anticipate beginning the next chapter surrounded by beloved friends and family.
