How We Met

08/31/18

After swiping right on Bumble (or is it left?) we went on our very first date on 8/31/18. We went to a nice bar midway between us both and proceeded to have the best, most interesting conversation of our lives. We knew that day we were made for each other-SOULMATES. Just kidding. We honestly have no memory of what we spoke about haha. We did, however, know that we genuinely enjoyed each others company and that neither one of us was a giant douchebag. I remember he was drinking Jameson and I ordered an iced tea because I was worried about looking easy. On our second date however, we went to The Golden Tiki and we drank ALL the drinks and I ate it off a curb as I was walking out the door at the end of the night. By that time he was clearly enamored because by some miracle I got a third date. GOT EM'! To this day he won't let me live that night down. Every day since then I am more and more convince that Jason was always the one for me and despite my still having no memory of what we talk about everyday, he still loves me exactly the way I am. We can't wait to celebrate this very special love we found with you all...

The Proposal

11/25/21

It all started a year prior with a conversation about what style ring she might like.... Fast forward 10 months later to Covid supply chain challenges. Finding diamonds in short supply, people out sick, getting the setting created, and just getting the ring in my possession was more complicated than I was expecting. Eventually I had the ring, BUT the Hawaii vacation proposal I had originally planned had come and gone. Now when should I do it? Thanksgiving? Christmas in New York? New Year’s Eve? Thanksgiving had always been a special time to Natalie so Thanksgiving it is! Now that I had the ring in my possession I had 2 weeks to finalize “THE PROPOSAL”. Margarita, Natalie’s mom, was on the fence about coming for Thanksgiving since her family had decided not to celebrate the holiday together last year due to Covid. I know how much family means to Natalie and what it would mean to have her mom and sister there. After a nervous phone call, mom was in. My next dilemma: How to get a 7-year-olds permission to marry his mommy without spilling the beans. If anyone knows Mason, they know he CANNOT keep a secret to save his life. The best plans sometimes happen on the fly and this one certainly had to! I asked Mason for permission and help with proposal 30 minutes prior to go time. We secretly met upstairs and he agreed to be the one to ask “Mommy- Will you marry Jason?”. After a couple rehearsals we were ready. Or so it seemed. We go downstairs and I begin with a charade of a toast thanking everyone for coming to Thanksgiving. Cue Mason! He begins to ask mommy the big question... usually he has ZERO problem being loud and the center of attention...but today, of all days, he can't seem to find his voice. After some confusion and the question being asked 3x. She turns to find me on one knee and all of a sudden Mason’s question turns on like a light bulb all over her face. After teary eyes, a mini panic attack, and a speechless head shaking yes- We were engaged!

For all the days along the way
