In June 2022, Seth and Courtney traveled with their families to Cancun, Mexico, to celebrate a mutual family friend's wedding (shoutout to Matt & Megan!). Before the weekend, the bride and groom played matchmaker, showing each a photo and highlights of the other. Ironically, neither was interested at the time. At the welcome reception at Planet Hollywood, Seth was already at the bar debating Auburn and Notre Dame football with Courtney's dad, Chris, while Seth's dad, Dave, enjoyed the banter. When Court arrived, Chris exclaimed, "There she is!" Seth sprang from his barstool in white-washed jeans, cowboy boots, and an Auburn polo—a look Court would soon know as his Saturday uniform. Introducing himself as a southern gentleman, Seth offered a handshake, after hearing his commentary on Notre Dame, Court quipped, "Does your suite have double doors to fit your big head?" Both dads roared with laughter, and the playful tone was set. The next night, at the wedding, Court saw a different side of Seth when he gave up his chapel seat to a little girl and her dad. Later, Seth reintroduced himself to Court & offered to buy her a drink at the open bar, which she didn’t find amusing, but he won her over during a night on the beach, exchanging favorite songs and trying to stump each other. Sparks began to fly as they bonded under the stars, sharing stories and laughter. When the trip ended, Seth wasn’t ready to say goodbye. He asked for Court’s number and sent a heartfelt message offering to fly her to Atlanta. With just one free weekend before the NFL season, Court visited two weeks later. Seth took her to a local bar’s beer pong tournament with friends, where they won the grand prize of free drinks—Court hit the winning shot, proving she was a match for Seth’s competitive spirit. The night ended with laughs and a growing connection. The next day, Seth invited Court to the lake with his family in Alabama. Expecting to re-meet his immediate family from the trip, she was surprised to find his cousins, aunts, and uncles. Despite the initial shock, the day was filled with boating, laughter, and Southern hospitality, marking the start of their adventures together. By August, Seth and Court were officially a couple, navigating long-distance dating. They spent fall 2022 traveling along the East Coast, attending Giants games, exploring Georgia and Alabama, and sharing countless memories. By March 2023, Seth moved to Hoboken, NJ, to live with Court. Together, they explored the vibrant city life, strolled along the Hoboken waterfront, and hosted gatherings with family and friends. Over 2023 and 2024, they attended numerous weddings, watched many football games, traveled to exciting destinations, and welcomed their mini Goldendoodle, Kona, into their lives. Kona quickly became the center of their world, bringing joy and challenges as they navigated puppy parenthood. On January 1, 2025, Seth proposed to Court on the 91st floor of the John Hancock building in Chicago, overlooking the stunning city and Lake Michigan. After a magical New Year’s Eve with their parents, including dinner, champagne toasts, and fireworks, Seth asked Courtney to marry him the next morning in American Sign Language, capturing the moment with a photographer. Both their parents (and Kona!) were there to celebrate the joyous occasion. Of course, she said YES! They capped the day with a pancake breakfast and spent the afternoon watching college football, a perfect start to their engagement. From a chance meeting in Cancun to building a life full of love, laughter, and shared adventures, Seth and Courtney’s story has been nothing short of special.
