Our Story

First comes school, then comes marriage

Zach grew up in Dekalb county where he attended school in Butler, IN. I attended school in Fort Wayne, IN. until transitioning to Eastside High School at the end of my 8th grade when we first met. We hung out within the same group of friends for all 4 years of high school but we never dated and neither one of us ever took a romantic interest in the other. After graduating from high school in 2008, Zach enlisted in to the Army where he served for 6 years and I moved to California where I traveled and lived for 7 years. Zach came home from the Army in 2013 and had a daughter, Kennedy, in 2014. I moved back home in 2018 just months before our 10 year high school reunion where we reconnected for the first time. We started chatting online shortly after that and eventually started hanging out. One thing led to another and after almost no time at all, we were inseparable. After 6 months of dating, I moved in with Zach and Kennedy. Kennedy was 3 years old when I came in to her life. She is 7 years old now and I cannot imagine life without her. We currently live in a 3 bedroom home in Butler behind our old high school. We have 2 dogs, Dawson and Nala, and 2 Axolotls, Frank and Fiona, who I enjoy having around but refuse to feed because they eat worms (yuck!) Zach will be graduating from a 5 year apprenticeship with the Local 166 Plumber's & Steamfitter's Union in the Spring of 2022. He is currently a unionized plumber working for Shambaugh & Son's. I work full time for my parents managing their family restaurant, Laker's Landing, on Hamilton Lake in Hamilton, IN. We intend to spend the next year enjoying every moment of engagement, remodeling our home, and preparing for God's next chapter. ❤️️
