We met in the summer of 2013 at a summer camp, Camp Laurel South to be exact! At the time we were mere acquaintances, that was until the following January when we both spent a weekend in Gainesville, Florida celebrating our friend's birthday. Cue UF mid-town bars and staying up way too late. In short, we saw each other across the bar (how romantic) locked eyes and the rest is history as they say.....JUST KIDDING! We actually went our separate ways after that fun-filled weekend and didn't speak or see one another again until camp that summer. It wasn't until then that I (Bridget) realized that maybe there was something still there that had been sparked all those months ago. Tyler proceeded to make every effort to express his interest towards me until I finally cracked and said yes to hanging out behind the camp office one night. From that point onward, we have experienced 'camp love', long distance, graduating college, navigating 'adulthood' in Gainesville and then taking the leap to move to Colorado together in 2017. To say it has been an adventure is an understatement, but we are so incredibly lucky to have spent the last 7 years figuring out how to grow up together, hand-in-hand.
It was a gorgeous early summer morning when Tyler and Bridget set out on their adventure to hike and fish at an alpine lake in RMNP. Bridget had been suspicious for months leading up, hoping that every hike or adventure may be 'the one' day where they got engaged. But this time, she really had no expectations and thought they were in it for the steps and trout. After a beautiful hike, filled with unexpected snow and getting lost along the way, they finally made it to the lake and enjoyed a wonderful picnic lunch. Tyler set out to try his luck fly-fishing and Bridget took a moment to relax and enjoy the views. With no success and some frustrations fishing, they decided it was time to head back down. It was then, after they were all packed up that Tyler was able to sneakily grab the ring from his backpack and get down on one knee while Bridget was turned away admiring the lake. He asked, she said yes, they both cried and shared the most peaceful and happy moment together! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with you all and cannot wait for 2022!
