Richmond played a pivotal role as a shipyard base during WWII. You will also learn the history of Sophia's employer, Kaiser Permanente, and how Henry J. Kaiser began offering healthcare to his shipyard workers. This laid the groundwork to the 75+ year history of Kaiser Permanente healthcare in CA and its other regions. Live well and thrive!
One of our favorite places to grab a beer! We recommend the Bo Pils or Red lager. They also have a Mexican food truck there most days and you must try their birria noodle soup!
Another one of our favorite local breweries and its walking distance from our house! If you like English style ales, then this is your place. They also have a food truck, Curbside Kitchen, Filipino owned #pinoypride. Try their curbside burger (Filipino inspired with tocino, garlic and soy sauce) or the Mushroom melt.
A nice walking area with amazing views of the bay and SF in the background. There are lots of different walking paths for low to moderate levels.
Another favorite of ours that is walking distance from our house. This marketplace has a few different dining options: Rocky Oyster Company (from Massachusetts) and Tommy's bbq. Check out Assemble's website for their hours as these pop-up's are open limited hours. Bonus - if you eat at Assemble, you can get a free pass to go the Columbia Mountain Hardware employee store around the corner. Usually, you can find items up to 40-70% off!
Point Richmond is a quaint city just a few miles north of Richmond. You can drive around their downtown in a few minutes and go through the Ferry Point tunnel to get to the Miller Knox regional park. Our favorite place to eat here is Masa. Sophia recommends the chicken flautas!
Enjoy a nice stroll at Pinole Pinole. Low to moderate walks and great views of the Bay and Mt. Tamalpais.
