Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Monica Houghton and Conor McGinley
Meet Conor and Monica's wedding party— a collection of individuals who each hold a special place in their hearts, representing the different chapters of their shared journey and the support of their loving families.

Emilee Clapp

Bridesmaid

Actor. Dancer. Singer. All around vibe enhancer. Emilee is Monica's cousin, who has been keeping the family entertained for as long as Monica can remember. She brings the energy to the wedding party, and the couple cannot wait to see her moves on the dance floor!

Sara Clapp

Bridesmaid

Monica's little cousin Sara has always been the family angel. On the cutting edge of cool, with a deadpan demeanor, Sara's honesty and humor provide a refreshing and delightful presence in any situation, making her the perfect addition to the wedding party.

Allison Locker

Bridesmaid

Monica and Locker met at their first teaching job in NYC. They became fast friends, sharing a mutual love of literature (Harry Potter), culture (Frozen on Broadway), fine dining (Bareburger) and travel (shepherding hoards of elementary schoolers on and off the L train). From Cancun to Colorado to Whiskey Tavern in Chinatown, Locker and Mon have embarked on countless adventures, and this wedding is next!

Sammy Lagville-Graham

Bridesmaid

Monica and Sammy first met as assistant teachers in Brooklyn. They bonded over being vegetarians who spent time at the same farm in Nicaragua. The friendship solidified as they belted Taylor Swift’s “Love Story" at Alligator Lounge, and they learned to rely on each to survive the woes of grad school and teaching 6-10 year olds on Zoom during a global pandemic. Sammy brings her unique fresh positivity and unwavering support to the wedding party!

Sarah McKenzie-Houghton

Matron of Honor

In 2013, Monica had the pleasure of meeting her brother's new girlfriend, Sarah, in Germany. After barely enough bratwurst and bier, Sarah bravely embarked on a nine hour van ride adventure with the entire Houghton family. After enduring that journey, and years of a long distance relationship, Monica and Sarah finally made things official… Sister-in-Laws! Along with being an incredible mom to Monica’s nephew George, Sarah offers a fresh perspective, a unique sense of humor, frequently used medical advice, and a much-needed British accent to the Houghton family. Monica is lucky to have call her the Matron of Hono(u)r!

Lauren Gullette

Bridesmaid

Lauren, Conor’s sister, has been taking care of Conor for his whole life. From acting as the prototypical big sister, to opening her home to Conor during the pandemic, she has always been there for him. As fellow English teachers, Lauren and Monica connect over their love of language and their stories of wild students. Lauren proposed to Monica before Conor did… the idea of being her son Desmond’s godmother! This made things official, as Monica fully embraced her title as “Auntie Mon.” Conor and Monica couldn’t imagine this special day without the supportive, loving, and selfless Lauren!

Dennis McGinley

Best Man

Dennis and Conor are officially each other’s best man. This makes sense considering they are also best friends. From Coax Rhino performances, to Yankees baseball games, to one on one basketball matchups in the driveway, to exploring the world of Skyrim, they have always done everything together and share a connection that only brothers can. Conor is so excited to have Dennis standing up there with him on this important day!

Connor Houghton

Groomsman

Growing up in Connor’s literal shadow, Monica always wanted to be like her big brother. She even broke her arm for the very first time trying to copy Connor (at Castle in the Clouds, no less!). Though she never beat him at Monopoly, she has always looked up to him and valued his expertise. Both Monica and Conor admire Connor’s unflappable calm, incredible work ethic, and wit— all of which will be greatly needed on wedding day!

Ryder Miconi

Groomsman

Ryder and Conor met when they were four years old. Since that time, they have done everything from captaining their high school baseball team, attending reptile conventions, to wading through waist-deep water looking for blue crabs together. Conor's oldest friend may have moved to Italy, but he would never miss this special day!

Jimmy Walwer

Groomsman

James "The Astounding" Walwer and Conor have been friends since the fifth grade. They spent their childhood days hiking at Lost Lake, playing Super Smash Brothers Melee for the Nintendo Game Cube^TM, and sharing their artwork with each other. Jimmy has been a constant presence in Conor and Monica’s nine years together, and they are so happy he can join them on their special day. (Check out Jimmy's artwork here on his website: jameswalwer.com)

Heather Chang

Groomswoman

Heather and Conor first met working at the same ad agency in NYC, and in her own words: "I didn't think the friendship would last this long." But lo and behold, seven years later Conor is Heather's son Jude's favorite white person. Quick to crack a joke, and quicker to solve a problem, Conor and Monica are so excited to have Heather by their side!

Darwin De La Rosa

Groomsman

Conor and Darwin met as freshmen at Providence College. Even though he’s a Red Sox fan, they still bond over their love of baseball. Over the years, his status as a frequent visitor to NYC has helped him stay connected to Conor and Monica. Darwin’s larger than life personality never allows for a dull moment, and always provides laughs deep into the night.
