Train from Syracuse

There is no direct train all the way to Lake George. The most efficient and straightforward route requires combining an Amtrak train with a local Trailways bus or a taxi/rideshare. The total travel time is typically around 4.5 to 6.5 hours.

Travel from Albany to Lake George

You can connect to an Adirondack Trailways or Greyhound bus from Albany to reach Lake George Village. The bus ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Amtrak's Adirondack train runs north from Albany and Schenectady to the Fort Edward-Glens Falls Station. From Fort Edward, Lake George is a 20-minute drive or taxi/rideshare away. Many travelers choose to pick up a rental car (such as at the Albany-Rensselaer Station) to enjoy the scenic 1-hour drive north on I-87.
