Conor and Katelyn met on their first day of medical school. They were neighbors for almost a year enjoying med school parties and late night egg banquets together with their friends before sparks flew at the Kentucky Derby, and the rest is history! Since then, they have traveled all over the country, taken road trips together, earned their medical degrees, moved to Colorado, and adopted their first baby, Bruno. They are now gearing up to move back East before their wedding to (finally) become real adults and start their grown-up jobs and the rest of their lives together.

Conor went to the Grand Canyon with his family when he was 8 years old. He has a terrible memory for most things, but vividly remembers watching the sunset with his mom and saying, "I want to bring my girlfriend back here one day." Fast forward 20 years, and Conor somehow convinces Katelyn to spend one of their very few vacation weeks road tripping to national parks in Colorado, Arizona, and Utah (he tried to get her to camp for the week and was promptly shut down). They arrived to the Grand Canyon late one evening, just in time for sunset. Walking out onto a barrier-less viewpoint, Katelyn panicked that she was about to witness the death of one of the many sub-optimally supervised children who were running close to the edge of the cliff, so Conor took her to a more quiet spot with a graded cliff that wouldn't kill you immediately if you slipped off the edge. They set up a picnic and then Conor made her (very reluctantly) leave her glass of wine for what would be the best surprise of her life. His hands were sweaty, he rambled (adorably) about how much she means to him, he popped the question, and she said yes! We can't wait to take this next step together and to celebrate our love with all of our favorite people!
