Things to Do

Here are just a handful of our favorite places to go and places to eat in Philly, especially near our wedding events and other popular areas in the city. Closer to the wedding, check out www.uwishunu.com, a great site that outlines fun events going on in the city each weekend.

Philadelphia City Hall

1401 John F Kennedy Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19102
, (215) 686-1776

Our beautiful City Hall sits at the center of the city. The building holds special significance for us, as it's where Conor proposed! We recommend heading to the Observation Deck (where Conor popped the question, and where you can enjoy beautiful views of the city) and walking around the Christmas market that will still be going on the weekend of the wedding.

El Rey

2013 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
, (215) 563-3330

Solid Mexican food and margs. If you're in the mood for a night cap, ask them to escort you downstairs to the Ranstead Room.

1 Tippling Place

2006 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
, (215) 665-0456

A speakeasy-style bar (you'll probably walk right past it!) with great drinks and a cozy atmosphere.

Philadelphia Museum of Art

2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130
, (215) 763-8100

Make like Rocky and run up the museum's steps, then check out the beautiful collections housed within.

Barnes Foundation

2025 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130
, (215) 278-7200

Located on the Parkway (en route to the Art Museum), the Barnes is an incredible private collection and a must for lovers of Impressionism, with many works by Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, Picasso, and more.

Rodin Museum

2151 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130
, (215) 763-8100

Located just behind the Barnes, this museum contains the largest collection of sculptor Auguste Rodin's works outside Paris.

The Franklin Institute

222 North 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
, (215) 448-1200

An incredible science museum and educational center fun for kids and adults alike.

Mutter Museum of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia

19 South 22nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
, (215) 560-8564

A sort-of-disturbing medical museum full of medical oddities, wax models, and antique medical equipment.

Rittenhouse Square

Philadelphia, PA

One of Philly's beautiful squares. Stroll through at night to see it all decked out for the holidays.

Parc

227 South 18th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
, (215) 545-2262

A beautiful French bistro overlooking Rittenhouse Square that's great for an (upscale) bite any time of the day. This is where Conor took Jess to lunch before he proposed, so it's near and dear to us :)

Metropolitan Bakery

51 North 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
, (215) 829-9020

Delicious bakery near Rittenhouse Square.

Pat's King of Steaks

1237 East Passyunk Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19147
, (215) 468-1546

A classic Philadelphia cheesesteak served in Jess and Conor's neighborhood of South Philly. Order the traditional Wiz Wit. Cash only.

Govinda's Vegetarian Cuisine

1408 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146
, (215) 545-5452

If you're a vegetarian like Jess but still want to get in on the cheesesteak action, look no further than Govinda's on South and Broad. We recommend the Chicken Cheesesteak. Cash only.

Reading Terminal Market

51 North 12th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
, (215) 922-2317

Stroll through Philly's famous indoor market for some great food. Try Philly's "other" sandwich--DiNic's Roast Pork with provolone and broccoli rabe.

Museum of The American Revolution

101 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106
, (215) 253-6731

Khyber Pass Pub

56 South 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106
, (215) 238-5888

If you find yourself in Old City, this is a great spot for drinks at night or Southern-skewing brunch in the morning.

N. 3rd

801 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123
, (215) 413-3666

Where Conor took Jess for their first date! If you're in the Northern Liberties area, we recommend checking this spot out for great food and good drinks, all in a fun and funky atmosphere.

Jim's Steaks South St.

400 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147
, (215) 928-1911
