Maid of Honor
Sister of the Bride Michele is my little sister, Maid of Honor, and assuming I'm well-prepared for the wedding, the second-tannest Popowytsch gal. Michele and I have always been close and I feel truly lucky to have her as a sister. Michele cried tears of joy (I hope) when I told her Conor had proposed to me and I am so happy she is sharing this special day with us.
Best Man
Childhood Best Friend of the Groom More of a brother than anything, Mike and I have been a duo since before I can remember. We grew up a few blocks away in Kearny, NJ and most places I've gone in my life were with him. It's too late to get rid of him now, so he earns the best man spot.
Bridesmaid
Sister of the Groom Madison and I have been friends for almost as long as I have known Conor. I first met Madison during my Sophomore year of college when she did a full split on my living room floor. Ever since then I knew we would be best friends. Little did we know one day we would be sisters as well.
Groomsman
Brother of the Bride Eric and I first met when I was just another goofy college friend of Christina's. Since then, we've become friends, Masonic brothers, and now brothers-in-law. Eric has been totally welcoming to me since Christina and I began dating, were engaged, are now getting married.
Bridesmaid
Sister of the Groom I've known Chloe, Conor's youngest sibling since he and I became friends in 2011 when she was only 13 years old. Even though we are only becoming sisters-in-law now, we have been friends since we first met. Clo has the famous Wiggins wit and sarcasm and I'm thrilled we're soon becoming part of the same family.
Groomsman
College Friend of the Groom Dan introduced himself to me as "Dan Nessy" while walking to the Marist boathouse on one of our first days of school and asked if I could teach him how to use a rowing machine. From then we became teammates, roommates, and great friends.
Bridesmaid
Camp Friend of the Bride Maddy and I met as girls at summer camp in upstate New York. We immediately were inseparable and of course came up with a super cool nickname for our duo, MadaTina PopCar. Maddy now works in Connecticut where she works as a patent attorney and I'm in LA; even though she may have gotten the brains of the MadaTina Popcar outfit, we still are just as close to this day.
Groomsman
College Friend of the Groom Matt, aka "Klos," is one of the best guys I know. Always ready to lend a helping hand or load up the boys and a canoe into his pickup truck, Klos is a key member of the group. We met as teammates at Marist, were housemates during college, and he now lives here in the Hudson Valley and works at IBM.
Bridesmaid
High School Friend of the Bride You could say my friendship with Jen began with a "splash" when I walked her into a koi pond in the dark at a high school party. Since then, Jen has become one of my closest friends and a staple at all of our parties from Poughkeepsie to Pennsylvania and Long Beach to Los Angeles.
Groomsman
College Friend of the Groom The group met Kyle in our Sophmore year of college. After we got over the fact that his two favorite things in life are rollerblading and himself, it turned out he was a pretty cool dude. Kyle is another great lifelong friend and now is one of the three guys from the friend group who moved to Austin, Texas together.
Bridesmaid
College Friend of the Bride Sam and I met in our first year of college when we both joined the rowing team. We immediately became friends and also lived together as roommates. Besides her day-job as a digital content coordinator, Sam is a seriously talented dancer and choreographer, so make sure to ask her for a dance on the wedding day!
Groomsman
College Friend of the Groom Evan, aka "Heaton," is a Poughkeepsie, NY native and another fellow-rower who I met on the crew team at Marist College. Heaton was the first person I told that Christina and I were dating back when it was still a secret. Which actually happened in the most meaningful and heartfelt of places; the drive-thru at McDonald's.
Bridesmaid
College Friend of the Bride Shannon, like me, was a coxswain for the Marist rowing team and Shannon, again like me, may not be considered by the group to be a particularly shy or quiet person. Shannon is a teacher and my first big trip with Conor as a couple was to visit her in Hawaii where she had moved for a year to teach elementary school. Conor and I both happy to share this day with her.
Groomsman
College Friend of the Groom Cam and I were Marist college rowers, pair partners, and friends throughout college. After he biked across America, we were roommates out in Long Island, NY while I was in law school. Cam is known for hosting wine & cheese parties, creating excellent cocktails, and putting up with Madison.
Bridesmaid
Cousin of the Bride Growing up, Linda was always the cooler-older cousin at the family parties who was close enough to my age that we would hang out together. Today, she and her fiance Shawn have become great friends of both me and Conor. Shawn and Linda were kind enough to share their Florida home with me and Conor when we visited a few years ago. I am so happy to have her standing with me on my special day.
Groomsman
College Friend of the Groom "Hesser" is another former Marist rower, college buddy, and a fellow Jersey guy. We spent a year in college as housemates and still get out to visit one another for weekends with the boys whether it be in Atlantic City, Long Island, Pennsylvania, or Texas.
Bridesmaid
Middle School Friend of the Bride Hiya and I have been friends since I thought it was cool to color my hair black with markers and have my mom drive us to emo boy-band concerts. Since those angsty preteen days, Hiya and I remained friends and even though we have almost always lived in different parts of the country, we have remained close as ever. I am happy to have my oldest friend here today.
Groomsman
College Friend of the Groom Jake and I lived on the same floor our freshman year and he became one of my first college friends. We were teammates on Marist crew together and housemates. Jake was the first of our group to move out to the West coast when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and is a fellow French Bulldog dog-dad.
Ring Bearer
Moo is our beautiful French Bulldog who has been a part of our family for almost three years now. He was born in New York but traveled cross-country to California when we moved last summer. He is an Instagram star and will be our ring bearer for the wedding, with the help of Tyler and Bernie. His hobbies include sleeping, snoring, and waking up to eat.
Ring Bearer Handlers
Tyler & Bernie are both like little brothers to me. Our families vacation together every year down in Wildwood Crest and I've known them since they were both babies. And now, I love the kind and hilarious young men they have both become. Tyler is a graduating senior from my alma mater, Saint Peter's Prep, and Bernie is finishing his freshman year here at my other alma mater, Marist College. Both will be acting as animal control today for our ring bearer, Moo.
