we're getting married

We went to the same college in Indiana—Ball State—and met during our senior year. We were both part of a university program that traveled to London to cover the 2012 Olympics, and we got to know each other during the lead-up to that trip. We became friends during that time, but didn't actually start dating until 2 years after college. We actually ran into each other at World Market of all places, reconnected, and started dating in 2014.

We got engaged during an Alaskan cruise we took with Conor's family. We were hiking in a forest in Ketchikan, Alaska and the trail opened up to a point overlooking the city and water. We went to pose for a picture by the cliff and I got down on a knee there. It started pouring shortly after she said yes, and then we had a really long walk back to the cruise ship in the rain. We got completely soaked through, but Annie was still smiling ear-to-ear. It's something we'll never forget.
