You can fly into SBA or LAX, but we highly recommend SBA, if you can, as the airport is only 10 minutes from downtown and connects with major hubs in Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix, and others. It has most rental car brands, only 4 gates, and security takes 10 minutes on a busy day! LAX is around a 1 hour, 45 minute drive depending on traffic from Santa Barbara. It has many rental car options as well as the Santa Barbara Airbus which is $100-120 round trip leaves about every hour and a half. You can find the schedule in the link below
