Maid of Honor
Sara and I met in choir practice at Pensacola Christian College; and life has been full, loud, and full of laughter ever since. We share a love of books (audio, mostly), mysteries, true crime, travel, music, and a unique brand of humor all our own. Candace: I’ll be famous! Stacy: and I’ll be famous by association—that’s my favorite kind of famous. — Phineas and Ferb S04 E06 Love from the reason you won’t be described on Dateline as a “free spirit”, Shay
Bridesmaid
Roommates by assignment; friends by choice. Courtney holds that we met on our way to college choir practice at Pensacola Christian College around sophomore year. I don’t deny that, but I also don’t remember it specifically. We have supported each other through loss, health issues, and the most joyous occasions! (Aunt Shay loves you, Zara!) Love from the reason you did so well in Teachings of Jesus with Dr. Troutman, Shayna
Bridesmaid
Choir buddies, friends who understand unique struggles in real ways, and fellow facial expression sharer—We grew to be fast friends! C. S. Lewis said, “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.’” You called this from the second I said “my friend Connor, from high school.” You were right! You were right! Everything you say is right! Love from the melody line, SHAAAAAAAAAAYNAAAAAAA
Bridesmaid
Watching you grow up has been one of the sweetest things I’ve had the privilege of being a part of. You’ve always felt like a little sister to me, and now, we get to make it official! I’m so proud of who you are and will continue to grow into. Love from your big sister, the former Miss Shayna From Connor: My sister, Victory, is the fourth born in our family and my valued Assistant Director in the church drama department. She has always been a capable helper, ready at hand to do whatever I needed. She has a wealth of talent and ability in drama, and as much or more in leadership. Her support for me has stretched beyond the stage, however, and into prayer. She served as one of the silent prayer warriors who sought God for a spouse for me. She has had a special connection with both the bride and me for all her life, so I find it incredibly fitting that God’s perfect match for me happens to be someone Victory has always looked up to as a big sister.
Junior Bridesmaid
Corrie came to our 3,4,and 5yo class a ball of sunshine and opinions—we became fast friends! Shooing trips, Bible verses, yummy food, and light up shoes—this sweet girl brings so much light and life to everyone who has the privilege of knowing you! Ms. Shayna loves you SO BAD! 💖 💜
Mother of the Bride
To my sweet Mom, We’re here! I am so thankful for the work that you put into making me the person I am today. I’m so grateful that you saw that this stage coming, even when I didn’t. You invested in me and took the time to teach me things – you were living example of a wonderful wife, helpmeet, and caregiver. You’re a godly example of sacrifice and submission. I would not be who I am without you, your prayers, your influence, and your support. Always your little girl, love, Shayna
Father of the Bride
My precious daddy was received into glory in 2015. In him, I saw a beautiful work of redemption and forgiveness. Like Joseph, my daddy saw what others meant for evil, but God meant for good—to save much people alive. You instilled in me the expectation of a godly man, who would love me as Christ loves the church and gave himself for it; for a man who was not above sacrificing for his family; for protecting the ones he loves at all costs. I miss you everyday, but I know you’re glad I’m taken care of, and will be taken care of so well! Love, your girl (Shayna)
Best Man
One of my oldest and closest friends, we met in 1st grade. Between then and now we went on field trips together, competed in shooting sports, graduated high school, and entered into adulthood. I have found him to be unflinchingly loyal and completely dependable as a friend, and will forever be thankful to have him in my life. He has known the bride just as long, so it seems only too perfect that he be our best man.
Groomsman
My brother, Trevor, has always been more than just a brother to me. We grew up doing everything together, and he has been one of my closest companions and friends. We have many years of friendship behind us and many more to come. He will forever be a child at heart. His fun-loving nature, although sometimes overwhelming, has added a light-hearted tone to the family and my life.
Groomsman
When I think of growing up, Zach occupies a special place in those memories. The third born in the family; he, Trevor, and I played together and bonded over action figures and video games in the early years. We’ve spent many days together fishing in the boat, hunting in South Alabama, and repairing the family’s vehicles. He’s always given generously from his wealth of knowledge concerning all things mechanical, and has been near at hand any time one of us needed help. I am honored to be his brother, and also his friend.
Groomsman
Quinton is the fifth born in my family. He and I share a birth month, and a special bond that exists between us as the eldest and youngest members of the family. He is an intelligent, deep-thinker who can respond on a dime and who never complains about inconvenience or hardship.
Groomsman
Cody is my cousin, the youngest member of the clan. He gravitated towards me at an early age and we have spent many family holidays off to ourselves shooting blowguns and practicing archery. In his early years we talked about knives, books, hunting, and anything to do with the outdoors. These days, he remains faithful to update me on what’s going on in his life, and even if we only manage enough time together for a hello, there’s always a special recognition of our history in the greeting that makes it more than just a hello.
