This is where Connor proposed to Sam. We highly recommend this hike, however, it is a challenging 8mile out and back loop with a >3,000' elevation gain Trailhead is 35 minutes from the venue.
One of the forty-eight 4,000 footers in NH. The trailhead is 10 minutes from the venue.
Our favorite brewery; it's family friendly, has an amazing view (you can even get in the river if you want!), good food, and knowledgable bartenders. When Connor was courting Sam, he took her here almost once a week despite the hour drive. It's an hour from the venue.
Probably our most frequented brewery. They don't have food, but allow you to bring food in and enjoy at their indoor or outdoor space. We recommend ordering Big Fatty's (a BBQ joint that shares the same parking lot) or Taj-E-India (a take out only joint about 5 minutes from the brewery) to enjoy while drinking some of the best beer VT has to offer. It's an hour from the venue.
Mt Cardigan is in our back yard and on of our go-to hikes. This is where we had our engagement pictures taken! We'd classify it as a New England Easy (but more of a moderate hike if you're used to the Midwest). It's a 3 mile round trip with ~ 1,000' elevation gain. It's on 52 with a view because it's definitely the most bang for your buck hike around. But pack a wind breaker, there will ALWAYS be wind at the summit. The West Ridge Trailhead in Orange, NH is the closest (40 minutes) and easiest trail from the venue.
Grafton Pond is only 10 minutes from our home and our go-to swimming hole. We love paddle boarding, fishing, and open-water swimming here. September will have temperatures starting to drop but, remember, water is an insulator so it'll feel 'relatively' warm. It's about 50 minutes from the venue.
Literally, any hike in the White Mountains is worth your time. If you're interested in hiking, Connor is very knowledgable about many hikes in the White Mountains, just ask him for suggestions!
One of our favorite restaurants in Lebanon. It's a wonderful atmosphere with high quality Thai cuisine. It's about an hour from the venue.
Located just down the street from River Roost Brewery, Red Can is one of the more high end restaurants near us in the Upper Valley. It even has a true speakeasy! It's on the pricey end, but is the only restaurant with an oyster bar in town and Sam can easily say; rivals the oyster bars of Boston. It's about an hour from the venue.
